Principle
The working principle of the 808NM diode laser hair removal system is based on selective photothermal action. The laser emits light of a specific wavelength (808nm), which is selectively absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle. Melanin then converts light energy into heat, which damages the hair follicle and inhibits hair growth. Surrounding tissue is unaffected by the laser, as the energy specifically targets the melanin in the follicle. This technique is safe and effective on all skin types and is considered the gold standard in hair removal.
